New Blog Established for Future Exclusive Reports
While this site remains "closed" I have just established a small blog which I will use to post significant exclusive information and news in the future. On the blog, I have just posted a detailed update with regards to the Raymone Bain vs. Michael Jackson case, with some very revealing information that certainly weakens her $44 million case against him. Please note that the new blog is not meant to act as a dedicated replacement to MJJR.net; it will only be updated periodically when deemed necessary, generally with information that is not already available online.

Announcement: The Closing of MJJR.net
It is with deep regret that I must now announce the closure of MJJR.net--The Michael Jackson Repository. For the past several years, and more formally since the start of 2008, MJJR.net has served as a unique and comprehensive information site to bring fans and the general public news and exclusives about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Throughout the years, it has always been my sincerest honor and privilege to investigate and report exclusive news and previously unreported details about a wide array of Jackson-related topics--from musical achievements, to legal matters, to interviews and media coverage, and much more. MJJR.net quickly became a cornerstone for countless fans around the globe, and the unique content first published here often made its rounds to hundreds of third party sites and blogs (sometimes with credit, sometimes without).

Unfortunately, newfound family and career-related obligations have severely hampered the time and energy I once had to maintain MJJR.net. As such, I feel it would be a disappointment to both Michael Jackson and his fans if I were to keep this site in operation when I am unable to commit to it as I once could. It is even more disheartening that I must make this announcement when Michael Jackson's highly anticipated O2 concert series is scheduled to kick off in less than two months.

Although this message signifies the end of MJJR.net, I will still periodically publish exclusive information and content across various online fan communities and other outlets just as I have done over the past five or six years, time permitting. If you would like to be informed of any future movement on this matter, feel free to follow MJJRepository on Twitter.

I've truly enjoyed the outpour of kind words and praise from fans around the world for all of the work I did on this site and elsewhere, and would like to sincerely apologize in advance for the surprise that this abrupt announcement may bring. MJJR.net, as it stands, will remain open to the public throughout July whereby it will redirect to a placeholder page pending further announcements...

First Four London O2 Shows Have Been Rescheduled
Today, Ticketmaster issued a press release confirming that "due to the sheer magnitude of the 'This Is It' concerts at the O2 Arena promoters and producers AEG Live and Kenny Ortega, Michael’s directorial partner and creative collaborator have elected to move back a few of the opening shows in order to meet the challenges presented by such a massive and technically complex show. Organisers are determined that all Michael’s legions of fans attending the opening nights get the same quality of staging and level of entertainment..."

The dates affected include: July 8th, 2009 (moved to July 13th, 2009), July 10th, 2009 (moved to March 1st, 2010), July 12th, 2009 (moved to March 3rd, 2010), and July 14th, 2009 (moved to March 6th, 2010). No other dates are affected by the rescheduling.

Continuing on, the statement reads: "Kenny and Michael are, at the same time, both creative pioneers and perfectionists. This show has grown in size and scope, thereby, necessitating more lead time for manufacture of the set, programming the content for the massive video elements, and, most importantly, more time for full production and dress rehearsals in the world’s busiest arena, the O2. As much as we agonized over this change in the original schedule, we are sure the fans will understand when they experience the level of entertainment Michael Jackson intends to deliver while also ensuring the safety of the musicians, cast and crew and the crisp execution of the production. It is AEG Live’s sincere hope that those lucky enough to have purchased tickets will have enough time to change their personal schedules and travel plans if they are coming from outside of London. We do not want anyone to miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience...Michael, who is directly involved with all aspects of the styling/choreography/band selection and rehearsals, is working around the clock to ensure this is the show to end all shows! Kenny Ortega, Michael’s directorial partner and creative collaborator said, 'After directing the Dangerous and HIStory tours, I know what the fans expect and myself and the team want to deliver a flawless production. We apologise to all disappointed Michael Jackson fans and remain extremely dedicated and focused on creating an exceptional live music experience.'"

Will Michael Jackson Appear at the American Idol Finale?
Every year since the dawn of American Idol, rumors have surfaced about the possibility of Michael Jackson appearing on the show during the finale. So far, despite plenty of build up by media outlets and the show's own stars, the rumors have been just that. However, this year the ongoing speculation may have more credence than ever before--though that's not to say it will really happen!

You may recall that the Top 13 special this season centered around the music of Michael Jackson. Likewise, in a recent poll on AmericanIdol.com the Michael Jackson theme was one of the three listed choices in a 'favorites' poll (Michael Jackson night ended up winning with approximately 100,000 votes placed). Speaking to EXTRA back in March, Simon Cowell was asked, "There's a chance you may actually get [Michael Jackson] on the show?" To which Simon replied, "Yeah. The best platform you could have in America right now is American Idol..." One year ago, Cowell told BBC 2 that every year the possibility comes up and that "you just say 'yes' and hope one year he will [appear on the show]."

While an official list of confirmed performers for Wednesday night's finale has been released, the crew at American Idol made it known that there are going to be additional performers not yet announced. Each year, there is at least one surprise performance or duet, although the surprise performer's involvement occasionally leaks before the show actually begins. Last night, Ryan Seacrest said that the "grand finale is packed with such great stuff that we're scheduled to go a little bit long, so I'm warning you now...set your DVR appropriately." Last week, former contestant Scott MacIntyre mentioned on his Twitter page: "Rehearsing music for the Finale..across the hall from Michael Jackson's band " Several independent sources also reported that Michael Jackson was at Nokia Theater today, perhaps to rehearse for the rumored performance at the finale, or perhaps just rehearsing for his own London shows! Of the possibility, an American Idol spokesperson said very little, other than that they are "just rumors." Either way, there appears to be enough speculation on the table at this point to tune in and find out (just don't be disappointed if all of this speculation again amounts to absolutely nothing)!

Randy Phillips Dispels Health and Concert-related Rumors
Michael Jackson Randy PhillipsThe president of AEG, Randy Phillips, recently spoke wtih CNN to dispel a variety of recent rumors while also hinting at upcoming plans and initiatives with the O2 concerts and beyond. With regards to the latest health and cancer rumors: "He's as healthy as he can be--no health problems whatsoever...he's not dying of cancer." Michael Jackson reportedly laughed after Phillips brought the tabloid-based reports to his attention. "He's used to rumors like this. He's been famous ever since he was 5. He doesn't read the newspapers or watch news reports." Michael Jackson regularly visits the offices of his long-time dermatologist, which has prompted tabloids and gossipmongers including Ian Halperin to insist that he was doing so to get treatment for a mountain of deadly diseases--from Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, to a severe MRSA staph infection, to skin cancer. Of the visits, Phillips confirmed that "Michael is very close friends with his dermatologist. It's as simple as that."

Randy Phillips emphasized the fact that Michael Jackson had to take an extensive physical exam before announcing his concert plans, adding that "he'll have to take another before the shows start." Continuing on, Phillips mentioned that "[Michael Jackson is] working out every day with his choreographers and his dancers. He's in better shape at 50 than I was at 30." With regards to the allegations by AllGood Entertainment (as MJJR.net exclusively detailed), Phillips mentioned that a reunion concert was "never in the works, at least from Michael Jackson's side...Never say never, but right now, he's focusing on his own show. It's not about his family." Speaking of the O2 concerts and related projects with AEG, Phillips hinted at a 3D live concert release, a 3D major motion picture film based on Thriller, and speculated that if the "This Is It" concert series goes on tour, it would go from Europe, to Asia, to North America, and then to South America. Other tabloid rumors about the concerts were also put to rest; there will be no animals, and there are no plans for Michael Jackson's children to be part of the show.

Michael Jackson Denies Skin Cancer Rumors
It seems that every few weeks a new tabloid-driven report surfaces alleging that Michael Jackson has contracted a new and potentially fatal disease. Over the past six months, the majority of such reports have originated from gossipmonger Ian Halperin, who plans to release at least two salacious books and one film on Michael Jackson over the next two months to best capitalize off of Michael Jackson's sold-out O2 shows. Ian, you may recall, is the person who started the widespread rumors that Michael Jackson was suffering from a whole slew of rare and deadly diseases including Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, severe emphysema, blindness in one eye, muteness, lung and liver diseases, severe back and leg pain, bedridden and on his final days. It was also alleged that Michael Jackson is suffering from a severe MRSA-style staph infection (flesh eating virus) and extreme frailty, amongst other fabricated conditions. Most recently, tabloid reports surfaced proclaiming that Michael Jackson was battling skin cancer; the reports quoted anonymous sources and the unnamed spokesperson of a fictitious publicist as confirmation.

Michael Jackson's official spokesperson, Dr. Tohme Tohme, has issued a statement to deny the latest batch of health rumors, telling the media: "[The skin cancer rumors are] not true...Michael Jackson is in the best of health...He is great... in perfect health...he doesn't have any diseases whatsoever."

Ed Alonzo Designing Illusions for Michael Jackson's O2 Concerts
Amongst widespread rumors and denials from both Criss Angel and David Copperfield's camp with regards to their alleged involvement in Michael Jackson's forthcoming O2 concert gigs, E! has confirmed that illusions are indeed being designed by Ed Alonzo (who has most recently worked on Britney Spears' Circus Tour) for use during the shows. Of the collaboration, Alonzo told E!: "I met with Michael Jackson a couple of days ago and am now officially creating magic and illusions for his concert. I will not be performing in the show as I do with Britney. I'm just creating the magic that Michael has requested in his vision... Michael has two routines in mind so far using magic elements that I am creating. I have to show him a demo of the effects next week. Then the props are to be built and he will start rehearsals. I will teach him the effects and help in staging them." Michael Jackson has forever been a fan of magic and has used illusions in previous concerts.

This Is It: Kenny Ortega Announced as Show Director
Kenny Ortega, in conjunction with Michael Jackson, has issued the following press release and photograph, with regards to the highly anticipated forthcoming concert series, "This Is It!"

Michael Jackson Kenny Ortega This Is It

This Is It: Kenny Ortega Announced as Show Director

The streets of Hollywood are buzzing; Michael Jackson mania is in full swing 5,500 miles away from The O2 arena -- the home of his historic 50 concerts this summer.

Kenny Ortega, the renowned Director, Producer, Choreographer and creative talent is hard at work collaborating with Michael Jackson in the overall design and direction for the upcoming ‘This Is It’ concert shows. Ortega previously worked on Michael Jackson’s Dangerous and HIStory tours, some of the most spectacular shows ever staged.

Last week, thousands of dancers flew in from every corner of the globe including Japan, Australia, South America and Europe to audition for Jackson and Ortega -- all of them were chasing their dream of winning a spot to perform on stage with their idol Michael Jackson.

Even after the selection process narrowed the competition from thousands of submissions to over five hundred top international dancers, there was still no dance space large enough in Los Angeles or New York to house the auditions. The producers ended up booking LA’s Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, part of the site where the Grammy Awards are held each year, to handle the unprecedented numbers of performers who flocked to these auditions.

Ortega, having once been in partnership with Gene Kelly, is most recently known for his work as the Director and Choreographer of Disney’s, High School Musical 1, 2 & 3. Ortega also Produced and Directed the Barbra Streisand’s Millennium concert tour and is a two time Emmy award winner for his work as Director and Choreographer of the 2002 Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In receiving the phone call from Michael to lead the team, Ortega said, "My answer without a beat was nothing could keep me away. Collaborating with Michael on the Dangerous and HIStory tours were two of the greatest creative experiences of my life, to be invited to partner with him again is a dream come true. Working with Michael is always a true and full partnership, he is a creative mastermind, he assembles top professionals to lead his team and then inspires each and every one of us to climb to new places, break out of the box and conquer new challenges. He is the most significant artist and entertainer of our generation."

"This Is It" is a spectacular concert experience incorporating iconic Jackson songs and choreography mixed with original new works. Ortega says, "Our show goals are to create more than a concert but a complete theatrical musical experience with a dynamic balance that features Jackson in both spectacular production and intimate settings. The stage set, choreography, costumes, lighting, effects and overall production will be of the highest standard and pushing the state of the art."

Michael is dedicated to every detail and aspect of the show working closely with his creative and talented production team. He is "tremendously excited" about sharing his stage show with hundreds of thousands of fans this summer in London.

Ortega goes on to say, "It has been over a decade since Michael and I worked on the HIStory tour together. We had been in discussion in the last couple of years about finding a new project to work on. When I got the call to join him for these concerts I was in-between gigs, catching my breath. I had just finished a World Press tour for High School Musical and was about to start a new film. In accepting the invitation I had to move a few mountains to clear my schedule, but I’m thrilled to say I’m fully on board."

Casting is in final stages for dancers and the band. The dedication, passion and determination of these performers, who are all personally inspired by Michael Jackson brings an unprecedented intensity to the stage. Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, has influenced a generation of performers through his music, dance and stage shows impacting an art form.

This week with rehearsals in full swing the impossible has become possible as details to this complex and dramatic show are being put together. And when moments get intense and exciting in rehearsals an age-old British tradition has been adopted -- a tea break!

Ortega adds, "I go to work each day with a huge sense of joy just knowing what is in-store. Michael, the team and I will hash out a creative idea, we’re ready to implement it and Michael will say let’s sleep on it. The next day he is back in studio raising the bar to the next level and pushing us further for greater dynamic results."

Randy Phillips, President & CEO of AEG Live, commented, "The unprecedented demand for these shows turned a normal public on sale into a cultural phenomenon and pushed the boundaries by which we measure success. Michael and Kenny are creating an escapist adventure that will take the audience on an entertainment experience only imagined in dreams or big budget motion pictures. This is the perfect pairing on unique creative talents with the greatest repertoire in contemporary music."

Ortega concludes, "I am looking forward to the creative days ahead as we build a Michael Jackson experience like no other, and to ultimately arriving at The O2 -- a magnificent venue and a worldly place. I am thrilled to be a part of the team that once again is bringing Michael Jackson, the greatest entertainer of our generation, back to the stage and into the light and love of his devoted fans."

By the end of the 50 concerts, 1 million fans will have witnessed one of the greatest musical events in history. This will be the last chance to see the King of Pop in London in what will be a historic stage show, and once in a lifetime concert experience -- this really is it!

Note To Editors -- One of the world’s most popular entertainers, Michael Jackson has sold over 750 million units worldwide and is one of the very few artists to be inducted twice into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Guinness Book of World Records has recognised Michael Jackson as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time and Thriller as The Biggest Selling Album of All Time. Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards and received the American Music Award’s Artist of the Century Award.
